Elevation Ceremony
So, I went on vigil and then was elevated at Gulf War XVIII. I chose Gulf War so my friends and families from both kingdoms that I played in, Ansteorra and Gleann Abhann, could be there. It was very important to me to have as many of my friends and families there as possible, and I did indeed have a number the near and dear to my heart in attendance. I am going to publish pictures of my elevation ceremony here and walk you through it visually as I receive more and more pictures to illustrate the different portions of the ceremony. I am also including a cast of characters so you will understand who is who and what purpose they served in the ceremony. I hope you enjoy looking at this.

Knight - Ansteorra. I have known him as long as I have been in the SCA. He is Charla's husband and I am a part of their household. In my mind there was no other choice to speak as my knight from Ansteorra
Mistress Jane Beaumont
Pelican - Gleann Abhann, Jane was one fo the first people I met in Gleann Abhann, and since then I have become a part of her household. She is very dear to me, and I am honored she spoke as one of my Pelicans
Mistress Michelle Chantal
Pelican - Ansteorra, Chelle and I go way way back to my early SCA days before either of us were much of anything in the way of titles and such. She is a dear dear friend who though she lives far away is always close in spirit

Rose - Gleann Abhann, Lailiane is the total package: beauty, wit, and charm. She is one of my best drinking buddies and I have some great memories of us in Tor An Riough

Rose - Ansteorra, Octavia was the first Queen I truly got to know. I clothed She and Daffydd during Their reign, and they were also the crown who gve me my Grant of Arms

My boo, and fellow Diva. We have been tight since the first time we met. Kindred diva spirits is what we are. She and I are soul sisters and get into alot of trouble together

An amazing bard who performed at my elevation. I love her dearly and think she is one of the coolest people in the SCA, and one of the most talented

Their Majesties call for a Medallion and Charla speaks to the lineage of this medallion
They place the Laurels medallion around my neck
The gold chain was crafted by Sir Henri

Their Majesties call for a cloak
It is not a cloak that they are presented with
It's something a bit more complex
It is a Tudor Coat and it takes several people to get me into it kneeling
Their Majesties call for a collar of estate
They place the collar on my shoulders
The ask for my fealty and fealty is given
The Laurel Wreath is placed on my head
my letters Patent are read into law
my letters patent are based on 16th century letters patent
The scroll is shown to me
His Majesty askes me to stand and explains that he made knight today who was my size
and he struck the knight as his final buffet, and I look like I could take the blow
I admit that I don't remember signing up for this part
and please don't damage the clothes
Her Majesty intervenes and administers my final Buffet: Let this be Your last unanswered criticism
"Your Documentation is lousy, I don't know if I like your shoes, and that outfit makes your butt look big."
