HRM Drake's Coronation Clothing
I ended up making this man's Elizabethan outfit for His Majesty Alaric Drake's first coronation in 2000. It is an odd polk-a-dotted brocade that was given to me by HRM Kayleigh. It was pretty awful on it's own, so yet again I ran to black velvet and beads.
The Fundamental design was based on a someone else's doublet that Drake liked, so it had a black velvet "yoke" and the rest of the doublet was beaded with pearls and gold filled beads to camoflage the brocade.
I used a metallic trim on the sleeves to create a chevron pattern on his sleeves based on several sleeve designs of doublet in period portrait.
He is wearing standard slops of blaack velvet with a pane of matching brocade from the doublet on the side.
