Costume and Culture in 15th Century Burgundy...and France
German Man's Outfit
I have decided to start looking into German clothing of the 16th century. I started playing around with patterns and looks based on various woodcuts that I have found of Landsknecht men. I drafted/draped a Waffenrock pattern and a Wams. I used a silk twill for the Wams and an upholstery brocade for the Waf. I wore a typical tudor shirt. I made the Waf with a "u" front and made a brustfleck to go across. The brustfleck and the guard on the bottom of the Waf are the same brocade.
With more research, I know that isn't quite correct, and I need to adjust a couple of things. However, I LOVE the look of it and I will make some more.
