Costume and Culture in 15th Century Burgundy...and France
Elevation Outfit
From the very moment I started thinking about an elevation outfit, I knew two things: It would be Blue and Gold, and it would be in the style of middle-Tudor or Henry VIII.
I found the most amazing gold brocade that had various renaissance-style crosses on it that I embellished with beading, gold pasmenterie, jewels, and pearls. This was used for the doublet and U-front skirted jerkin.
The Tudor great-coat is embroidered with gold fleur de lis and Laurel wreaths. It is guarded with two styles of large gold pasmenterie styled trims. The collar is made of blue satin and lined with a lovely coordinated linen. .
