Costume and Culture in 15th Century Burgundy...and France
So Nastasia also found this wonderful blend jaquard that has tone on tone fleur de lisin crimson. The fabric is delcious, and it is going to make a lovely venitian gown. I actually found some cotton twill that is the exact same color
to line the dress with. It has a nice sturdy weight and I will probably use some cotton drill or canvas for the interlining. This gown is going to be a rather typical early 16th century gown from Venice much like you see in these pictures. It will inevitably lace up the front with lacing rings. Iam unsure of the sleeve treatment as
as of yet, but I imagine it will resemble the bottom dress in the pictures.
